Dr. Jolanta Aidukaitė and dr. Rūta Ubarevičienė have successfully completed the Horizon 2020 project EuSocialCit “European Social Citizenship” (please read more about the project: https://www.eusocialcit.eu/). The head of the project LSMC SI was the Chief Research Fellow Dr. J. Aidukaitė. The main implementing and coordinating institution was the University of Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Duration of the project: 02/01/2020 – 01/31/2024.
The project aimed to provide alternative policy scenarios to strengthen European social citizenship by comparing and contrasting concrete policy scenarios for reinforcing European social citizenship.
The LSMC SI part of the project was related to the analysis and the assessment of housing policy and housing rights in Europe. The detailed project report on housing rights in the EU can be found here: https://www.eusocialcit.eu/published-our-working-paper-on-housing-rights-in-the-eu/.
The end of the project was crowned by the final project conference “Future of European Social Citizenship”, which took place on 18-19 January (2024) at the University of Amsterdam. At the conference, dr. J. Aidukaitė and dr. R. Ubarevičienė presented their article “Securing housing rights at the EU-level: mission impossible?”.
