Collective contract coverage research in the sectors of care, central public administration and waste collection was the main focus of researchers from the CEECAW project consortium, who met at a field seminar in Belgrade (Serbia) on September 4-5, 2024. The Institute of Sociology at the Lithuanian Centre for Social Sciences, as a member of this consortium, was represented at the meeting by dr. Inga Blažienė and dr. Ramunė Guobaitė.
Under the leadership of the Institute for Public Affairs (IPA) from Poland, the project aims to support trade unions at the sectoral and national level in achieving the objectives set out in Article 4 of the Guidelines on the Reasonable Minimum Wage Relating to Collective Bargaining. Specifically, this involves increasing the number of employees covered by collective contracts to at least 80% of the workforce.
Following the elaboration of national reports, comparative studies and policy documents in the sectors of care, waste management and central public administration, the project will proceed with five National Workshops to promote collective bargaining and culminate with a roundtable in Brussels, which will allow for broad stakeholder discussion and can inspire public bodies.
